Rant #1,381: Baby, It's Cold Outside

Four degrees.

That is all that it is outside today in my neck of the woods.

I guess you could consider that to be cold.

But at least there is no new snow on the ground. We have had enough.

I don't remember the last time we reached this level of temperature, but I bet it has been many, many years.

I do remember as a kid that we hit zero degrees several times, but that was a long time ago.

Four degrees.

The fun thing is that in the new cars, like the one I have, it shows you the outside temperature as you drive, and today, I think my car will hit a new low.

I think it had been six before this.

I know the high it hit was 92, during lass summer, but we now have a new low.

I am waiting for it to hit zero, and on the other end, hit 100. Now, that would be a fine stretch of temperature.

But I will just have to accept the four and 92 stretch for right now.

And it is windy as all heck outside too, so I bet it feels like it is as least 10 below.

Inside, we have the heat on, and we have out one portable heater going pretty strong.

It has been the best $40 I have spent in a long, long time. I have one for my son's room on order as we speak.

Me, I am really never cold, so I will make due today, wearing short sleeves at work as I always do.

And I hear that tomorrow, it is going up into the low 40s, believe it or not ... with some more snow, and rain, as the cherry on the cake.

So I will have to sit tight. I will speak to you again on Monday, and hopefully by then, we will have warmed up to something more reasonable.

Heck, 40 will be absolutely balmy compared to what we have now.

But there is hope--pitchers and catchers have reported to spring training in Florida and Arizona!

That means the warm weather is on its way ... as we shiver and shake right now.

(When I got in my car this morning, it read 2 degrees, and fluctuated between 2 and 4 degrees the whole time I was driving, so I set a new low, 2 degrees, in my car. Two degrees to 92 degrees--quite a good difference of temperature--can we go even lower?)
