Rant #1,376: Perhaps ...
Us common folk have to put up with lots of nonsense spewing from the mouths of those in the spotlight.
Yes, once again I am going to talk about show people today, because, well, with their resources which they often squander--and which often blinds them to the real world--well, the simply abuse them.
First, we have NBC newsman Brian Williams, who was suspended for six months yesterday for basically telling lies about himself while he was reporting various stories both in the states and abroad.
He evidently reported things that were "inaccuracies" at the very least--and out and out lies at the most--about the danger he faced while reporting, giving the viewer the impression that what Williams had experienced was a bit more treacherous than it actually was.
This is never a good thing to do by a reporter, but it has happened before, and it will probably happen again, but not with Williams.
With his six month suspension, and newer allegations about abuses of his expense reports, you can bet that at least he will never be on NBC again.
I mean, he is supposed to be reporting the news, and not be part of it.
But you never know. I have since read other reports that after six months, he might be part of a two-headed, if not three-headed anchor team on the Nightly News, with Lester Holt--his current fill-in, and as professional a newsman as I have seen or heard--and possibly another anchor, a female.
Then we have a low-life with plenty of money who makes Williams look like a choir boy.
Such is the case of Kanye West, a successful musical performer who for the life of me, I cannot figure out.
And I am talking about his talent, or lack thereof, and why he is such a popular figure on the music and social scene today.
He has had several Grammy Award burnouts, and the latest came just a few days ago, when he burst onto the floor when Beck was accepting his Album of the Year award.
West--who is married to Kim Khardashian, which should tell you all you need to know about him--claimed that the award should be given, by Beck, to Beyonce--another person whose talent I question--because he felt her album was more deserved of the prize.
You might remember a few years back, he basically broke into Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for her Grammy Award, telling everyone she didn't deserve it.
West has a very big mouth, at the very least, but do you see a pattern here?
The two people he has been upset with as far as winning awards are white. West is black.
Hmmm ... lest I get arrested by the PC Police, might I venture a guess that West is ... are you ready ... a racist?
Look, we all have the "typical" racist framed in our minds by Carroll O'Connor's portrayal of Archie Bunker on the classic TV show "All in the Family," and West simply does not fill that bill.
But who is to say that a racist can't be someone in West's skin? Is it always whites vs. blacks, why can't it also be blacks vs. whites?
And then, lest we forget, we still have the case of Bobbi Kristina Brown, who supposedly still lies in a medically induce coma due to her unfortunate circumstances.
Did she try to commit suicide, or was she offed by someone close to her?
Conflicting information has come out about this case, earlier leaning toward suicide but now, with the distinct possibility that someone might have tried to murder her, but right now, the case is an open investigation.
I am not going to retract my earlier words on this case just yet, but I am also going to wait until they come up with a clearer picture of what really happened to this girl.
I am also going to say that whether suicide or murder, trash and money is never a good mix.
Oh, those show people ... funny, they think they are better than we are, that they can get away with much more than common folk, but the last time I looked, they put their pants on the same way we do.
Perhaps they need to be taken down a notch to see that.
Just perhaps ...
