Rant #3,543: Splish Splash

When are we going to get some rain in my neck of the woods?

We have had nary a drop of the wet stuff seemingly during all of September in my area, yet others around the country have had to put up with record rain throughout this year.

And next, we have Hurricane Helene, which might just bring with it an incredible deluge--along with a lot of other things--in parts of Florida and Georgia and in the rest of the Southeast --

But nothing where I live.

Look, I realize how fortunate we are over here, in particular when you compare our situation with others, some of whom have lost their homes and businesses--and lives--due to the ridiculous amount of precipitation they have received.

And over here, if we actually have had some precipitation, it is no more than about 1/100th of an inch--

And whatever day gets that much, the Weather Bureau counts that as "a day of rain."

??????

Over here, we might get some wet weather during the next few days, but like I said, it won't be much.

We need some rain to fill our reservoirs, and personally, we need some rain to clean the atmosphere.

On Tuesday night, I had the very first allergy attack I have had in months.

Usually, these things tend to last maybe 20 minutes or so, but this one lasted something like an hour.

I kept having to blow my nose, and while these things don't throw me for a loop anymore, they are quite a bit annoying.

And they make my bones ache ... in particular my already messy left leg.

That does throw me for a loop, and I will have to learn to deal with that, too.

We are in the fall season--which I have been told that I am totally allergic to--and the leaves will soon start to fall ...

Yet there is no rain to clean all the tree pollen and allergens that are all around us.

Yes, I guess I should prepare for another allergy attack sometime soon ... and for my bones to ache, as they are doing right now.

(And the outside of my car looks like "who did it and ran," so some showers would be a totally inexpensive way to make our cars look nice again.)

Look, I don't want it raining cats and dogs, just maybe kittens and puppies.
