Rant #2,422: Just a Dream Away

"We got 'em!"

This cry rung out amongst the mobs ... err ... protestors yesterday afternoon, when all the news outlets reported that all the officer involved in the horrid George Floyd situation will be charged,

That is fine and good, and these policemen should be accountable for their actions, or non-actions, related to Floyd's death.

But when this chant rises up and cascades from one end of the protest groups to another, you just know that these are not protests, they have become nothing but mobs.

And yes, they are the kissing cousins of the lynch mobs of yore, when innocent people were strung up on trees to hang for no other reason than the color of their skin.

The situation is somewhat reversed now, but don't think that there isn't an eerie link between the verbal lynchings taking place at these mob rallies and those horrible events of eons ago.

"We got 'em" then, and "We got 'em" now.

And somehow, the news services are painting these mobs as seemingly so peaceful and understanding, coloring them with flowers and hues of colors usually reserved for a Crayola Crayon box.

When you have a mob, you have anarchy, and that is what these groups of almost all young people under 35 years of age or so have become.

And not only are they acting as camouflage for violence--both from outsiders and from their own ranks--even though the news media and politicians are telling us that only outsiders are agitating the violence, which is becoming more hard to believe by the day--they are now making demands, like any good mob should be doing.

A group in Washington released a list of 10 demands that they wanted filled. Not only do they include demands related to criminal justice and government reforms, but they also include the demand that the use of marijuana be legalized and statehood for the District of Columbia.

I mean, while the iron is hot, why not ask for the moon?

This group said that it came up with the demands because so many of the participants in these protests were asking, "What's next?," and this list of demands gave a framework to that answer.

It is clear that the mob scenes are clearly anti-white and anti-police, and even more so, anti-President Trump. Just watch the network news programs, and you will see the venom directed at the president. Reporters have become commentators, taking stands within their own reportings, rather than simply reporting what is going on without bias. I cringe when I watch the CBS Evening News with Norah O'Donnell, which has basically become the anti-Trump half hour, and the facial expressions that the comely O'Donnell makes after every supposed report are for the ages.

And as I have said from Day One of Trump's presidency, I don't think his constant tweeting is helping any matter, and certainly not what is gong on now. I wish he would put those tweets to rest, because they serve no purpose.

Can the officers involved get a fair trial in Minneapolis or anywhere else on this earth?

I simply do not know. I don't even know if they can get unbiased jurors; they might have to get a list of people who just woke up from comas after years of vegetation to get a list of people who might be able to sit on a fair and unbiased jury here.

And no, I am not joking.

And what lawyer in his or her right mind is going to take on their cases?

I don't care what publicity the lawyer would receive from representing the accused, but the backlash will be great, no matter how the trials go.

I guess the attempt to lessen or reduce the charges against the former officers will give a spark to whoever represents them, but is it worth all the negative publicity?

And then we come to our former presidents Obama, Bush and Carter, who finally made public statements on what was going on, and of course, threw nothing but gas on the flame with their words.

They appear to want to see Trump defeated rather than help this country heal, and their words are so volatile that they wear their hatred of the president, at all costs, like their own personal Red Badges of Courage, rather than the Scarlet Letter that they really are.

Our country has truly become a third-world country with these protests in progress, and everything we believe in is being destroyed, not just the businesses that continue to simmer after days of violence.

It is time to move on, for these daily mobs to stop congregating to spew their hatred, because it is one thing for businesses to be destroyed, but the next step is residences.

Once our homes are destroyed, we truly have nothing left.

And we cannot let that happen.
