I think it probably is,
because if you don't celebrate the right way, you are going to be Swiss cheese
to those who you are supposed to be honoring that day.
So like I say every year,
guys, do the right thing and do what you need to do to make the day special for
your wife, your mom, and any other ladies who are so cherished on this day, and
every day on the calendar.
Make them feel like they are
special, because they really and truly are.
Take them out or get them
some gift that is truly from the heart. Getting KFC, like I said in an Rant here earlier this week, is not an appropriate gift, although if you spice it up
with something else, it could be a nice add-on if the person is into it.
Moms are special people. They
carried us for nine months, and brought us into this world.
Sure, dads are also very,
very important in this entire process, but moms are special, really special.
I am really lucky. My wife,
my mom and my sister—who has three boys—will all be celebrating the day together,
in one place, so we can handle the festivities all in one setting.
My daughter will be
celebrating the day with her mother, and that is fine with me. I can’t really
argue against it.
Mother’s Day in my family
celebrates these special ladies, and I hope that the occasion is as fun in your
family as it is in mine.
My birth made my mother an
actual mother 60 years ago, so even though I was born in late April, you can
say that I was a Mother’s Day baby.
My daughter was actually born
even closer to Mother’s Day—in 1988, it was a quirky year, and the holiday was
celebrated on May 8, but it is always celebrated the second Sunday of May—and her
birthday--May 15--is often actually right on the occasion.
But whatever the case, let me
wish all the mothers a happy Mother’s Day, and many, many more to all of them.
Have a nice weekend and have a nice holiday. I will
speak to you again on Monday.
