The concept of air
conditioning has been around, believe it or not, for generations.
There is evidence to state that ancient civilizations understood the concept of air flow, and may have constructed their rulers' palaces to maximize this air flow and keep things as cool as possible.
But of
course, the concept came to the fore in the 20th century, when electricity allowed the
idea to take off.
I love air conditioning, and believe me, with my allergies being as bad as they are, I don’t know if I could survive without air conditioning on a hot day, a day like we had yesterday, or for the past few days.
It has been pushing 90 degrees each day where I am, and the humidity has made it even worse, and I have to tell you, I really am uncomfortable when the heat reaches such a level, and having the air conditioning on helps me cope.
In my early years, we had no air conditioning either in Brooklyn or when we moved to Kew Gardens Hills in Queens, but once we moved to South Jamaica, Queens, thank goodness we had air conditioning, as each apartment in the 20-building Rochdale Village housing development was air conditioned.
When we moved to Long Island, initially, we did not have air conditioning in the house, but after a few sicknesses that I had early on, our family doctor pretty much begged my parents to put air conditioning in my room, so I had air conditioning in my room before anyone else in the house, and we finally had the house air conditioned probably a year or so afterward.
Moving up to the present day, we have a few air conditioners where we are, and the one in the master bedroom has been providing cool air, believe it or not, for at least 30 years, if not more.
To combat the heat of the day, the air conditioning is on, and frankly, I don’t know how anyone exists without it, although I know that millions of people do.
I admit that due to my allergies, I simply could not do it.
What is all of this leading up to?
Nothing, really. I just wanted to talk about air conditioning today within at least part of today’s blog entry.
As I said, I know that I could not live without air conditioning, and I know a few other things too, which I will list right here, so here goes:
• I know that the New York Yankees are not a very good team this year, and while I will root for them until the day I leave this earth, this year’s team is not up to the standards we are used to.

• I know that the New York Yankees are not a very good team this year, and while I will root for them until the day I leave this earth, this year’s team is not up to the standards we are used to.
• I know that there is a glimmer of hope with the Yankees, and that is, they have about 100 games to right themselves, and it is something that can be done.
• I know that I am in for it when my wife retires, because we lose her health insurance when that day comes, probably in mid to late November. I did some research, and it will cost us at minimum $500 a month to insure me between the time my wife retires until I can get Medicare, which will be in late April.
• I know that we finally have the backyard pool open, but it is old, and we are probably going to need a replacement in 2022.
• I know that the people running for the Democrats’ choice to be the next mayor of New York City are able to run wholly racist TV ads because that is the narrative today, to blame everything that ails us on a certain group of people, without looking at the bigger picture.

• I know that based on those running for that position, Mayor deBlasio, no matter how horrible he is--he is undoubtedly the worst mayor in the city's history--would win in a landslide if he could run again.
• I know that one of the most beautiful woman on television is Judge Marilyn Milian of “The People’s Court,” and that another 50-year-old-plus woman, Cassandra Peterson--aka Elvira—is one of the most beautiful women in the field of entertainment.
• I know that they all take
second place to my wife, who is gorgeous at age xx.
• I know that my wife and I are as proud as an be at the progress our son has made in his life. Early on we were told that he would not be able to do very much, but here he is, and he holds a job, plays sports, and has scaled over any early perception of him by leaps and bounds.
• I know that I love my daughter to pieces and I am confident that one day she will come around, and we will have a closer relationship.
• I know that Donald Trump will never be president again, no matter what the conspiracy theorists claim, and that now is the time for the Republicans to cultivate possible candidates to run again President Biden in 2024.
• I know that many of us continue to wear our masks, but I think that once summer is officially here, the masks will pretty much be history.
• I know that I don’t trust any politician or supposed expert on the coronavirus to tell me what is right or what is wrong related to this disease.
• I know that I have an incredible record collection, and that it will continue to grow as long as I have breath in my body.
• I know that the world is broken right now, but I am confident that it can be repaired if we are all on the same page in believing that it can happen.
So there are more than a dozen things I believe in—in addition to air conditioning—and I will stand behind everything I said 1,000 percent.
Sure, some of them are silly and some of them are real and true and terrible to say, but I say what I want to in this Blog, and I thank you for visiting this site every day to hear me out.
You don’t have to agree with me in any way, shape or form, but one other thing that I know that is right is that we have freedom of speech in this country, and as long as we are not saying anything to physically hurt someone, then there is no reason to stay quiet.
And in turn, you have a perfect right to disagree with me, as long as you don’t attempt to take away my right to freedom of speech.
That is what makes this country great … and that is something that I know, too.
