Rant #1,354: What Happened

OK, this is the only time that I am going to speak about this situation, and then from here on in, I am going to move on and talk about what I really want to talk about.

In the middle of last week, a virus somehow got attached to the original Ranting and Raving Blog.

I have no idea how it happened.

None.

Anyway, I found that this virus was virtually unstoppable, because whatever I did to get rid of it, it was still there.

I enlisted the help of Google and some people in various Google forums related to their blogs, but no matter what I was told to do, the virus persisted.

One fellow blogger did give me a good piece of advice. He/she told me, "If it is not due to anything Google has done, or any of their blogger materials, you are sunk. They aren't going to help you."

Well, I found that out.

The last time I looked, the virus persisted on the original site.

Please, please, for your own Internet safety, do not go on that site. It is infected, and I do not want your computers to get infected too.

So, since we live in an age where no matter what happens, we persist on doing what we want to do, no matter what stands in our way, we move on, that is exactly what I did.

I created this site to take over from the other site, basically pick up where I left off, because I am not done talking, or blogging, just yet.

I refuse to let a virus interfere with what I have enjoyed doing for the past nearly six years.

Here is how things will look here.

Yes, they are a bit different from the original site, but I could not get that old format back, so this will have to suffice.

I am sure you will get used to it.

As far as content, as you can see, I picked up from exactly where I left off with the original blog, as far as the numbering system is concerned.

But as a bonus, each day, with the original, new entry, I am going to post a "classic" entry, at least one from the original blog.

So today, you get the latest entry, which you are reading now, plus the very first entry from the other site.

At least two entries a day now, until everything from the other blog is here.

Yes, that will take some time to do, but I want the original blog to be moot, and I want everything over here, all the content I have put up since May 2009.

So bear with me, enjoy both the new and the old, and we won't talk about the old blog anymore, OK?

Speak to you again tomorrow, and again, I don't want to talk about what happened ever again.
