Rant #3,802: Get Back

It has been several days since my family and I have been home from our cruise, and it is good to be home.

I have been very busy since getting home, what with work, catching up, or a mix of both.

Heck, I didn't even shave for a week!

I finally took off those bristles this morning.

Staying on the topic of hair, my son and I both need a haircut badly, and hopefully, we can do that in the next few days.

I worked on getting my computer in working order again, and I am still working on getting it up to snuff.

I am trying to catch up.on phone calls that i owe some people, I brought my car in to get an oil change 24 hours ago, and I am trying to catch up with "Survivor."

I finally watched the first episode I missed while away, and it was an important episode, with a first: a contestant was bitten by a poisonous snake, and had to be rushed away for treatment.

He was bit, but it luckily was what is called a "dry bite," which means there was a bite, but no venom was injected into the bite.

However, the guy was not allowed to return to the game, so that was an interesting twist.

Now, I have to get the twists and turns of my own life back in order.

Twelve days away doesn't sound like much, but just to demonstrate how much it really is, while away, we received about 75 pieces of mail, with most being junk and others, on the other hand, being quite important.

I got through that pretty well, but it was very time consuming.

My son is back at work, my wife goes back today, and as you know, I worked on the cruise and continue to work at home.

I finally heard about my son's assessment.

The woman who helped my son didnt get back to us in two months, so I emailed her after we arrived home, and only heard from her yesterday morning.

She clained that she told me the results when I picked up my son on the last day of the assessment, which is ... well, let's say what it is--

It is completely untrue.

The only thing the woman told me was that, "He shouldn't work in hotels," and that she would get back to me with her findings.

She never did until I got back to her.

Happily, my son found a job all on his own, because all roads lead back to the same organization, one that hasn't done a blessed thing for him ... ever.

So, it's the "same old, same old" with that--

And God forbid my son is ever out of work again, I will never, ever go back to these agencies, which have proven their overall incompetence over and over and over again.

That being said ...

Yes, the three of us are slowly but surely getting back to our normal schedules, and I have to say that it is good to be back.

You can't be on vacation forever.
