Finally!
It has taken a long time, but my family and I will be "out of pocket" for the next several days.
"Out of pocket" is a term often used in the military. I will leave it to you to figure out what that means.
The last time we were "out of pocket," my mother became very sick, and i barely got to her in time to say goodbye.
Thus, that situation was a very poor one, and to this day, I sometimes feel that I would never live it down.
That period was just prior to us being in total turmoil; we were forced to sell our house, where we lived for many decades ...
And then came that fateful Sunday, where I tripped, fell, or did whatever I did, and I injured myself, needing emergency surgery.
Little did I know I would soon have another surgery--
Talk about being "out of pocket!"
Anyway, my left leg is much better, while other parts of my nody are much worse.
We moved not once, but twice, in our new community.
We just went through an eight-month period where our son could not get hired, amd that took a major toll on all of us.
But finally, the time has come, and we will be "out of pocket" for a period of time.
This period of time won't be forever, but it is certainly needed.
Sometimes you need to simply take a break, and that time has finally come for myself and my family.
I think with all the craziness we have experienced over a number of months--just about six years if you use the day I lost my job as a measuring stick--being "out of pocket" is coming at just the right time.
In fact, I look it this period as not being "out of pocket"--
I look at it more as "brass in pocket," as the riches we will get during this period can't really be quantified in monetary terms.
"Jingle Jangle."
Speak to you somewhere down the road ... .
