Rant #1,733: Dive Bombing

Bird poop.

Yes, with the extremely hot weather we have been having in my neck of the woods, the amount of bird poop falling on my car has expanded exponentially.

It really has.

And while it isn't as bad as the car pictured here, I haven't seen this amount of bird poop in years.

It seems that my car picks up more bird poop every day.

When I go out to my car to use it, I have more marks on it than a leopard has spots.

Yes, it is disgusting, but what do you do about it?

Nothing. You just grin and bird ... bear it.

I guess the warmer weather makes the pigeons poop even more, and my car has become a large target for their dumps.

There are a few reasons for this.

First off, I have a white car. I don't know what it is, but birds seem to go for white more than other colors.

Second, I park right under trees, both at my home and at my place of work.

We know that birds populate trees, and have their nests there.

So if you park under a tree--and your car is parked under a tree for multiple hours each and every day--you just know that you are going to get hit.

Yes, I could move the car and park elsewhere, but honestly, spaces are at a premium at home and at work, so I am pretty much stuck in the spaces under the tree--there really is no choice about where to park my car.

I had my car washed just about three weeks ago, and I got it home, all sparkling and nice under the summer sun.

I went out to the car later in the day, and bird poop was all over it.

It doesn't even pay to wash the car--it is going to get hit, so why bother?

At this point, I am just going to have to live with the bird poop coming down on a daily basis.

With the heat, comes the poop, and we are in the dog days of August now.

Soon, the weather will turn colder, and the birds will leave the area for warmer climates, and they will take their bird poop with them.

And by the winter, they will be gone, just a memory.

But probably by that time, my car will be covered in a different type of mess.

You can bet that we are going to get snow this year and this winter, and when I see my car covered in the white stuff, I will almost pine for the summer, when it was 90-plus degrees and my car was covered with bird poop.

What's worse, a car covered with bird poop or a car covered with snow?

I will let you make your own decision on that one.

  4. But tell me again it's Obamacare that's the cause...

  5. This has nothing to do with the issue that I talked about today, and yes, Obamacare is the cause because it forced my company to downgrade our coverage. You are a shill for the insurance industry, since that is where you are employed, so you really have nothing to say, counselor, so don't say anything. I do believe, however, you should go to a mental health professional to deal with your need to always be right. Does your health insurance cover such treatment, at a fair cost to you?

  6. I am not a shill of insurance industry, and it is unbelievable how you give a pass to your employer.

  7. And again I ask you, what does this have to do with the subject of this entry, unless you are equating Obamacare to bird poop, which my experience has shown is a valid comparison. And why all the aliases Now we know who you really are. Do you have something to hide? Have you multitasked yourself into being chicken too? You are nothing but a shill, representing an industry that pays your bills. Again, I am sure a doctor can accommodate you.

  8. Songbird didn't want to discuss the subject of this essay, and neither did I. I was reacting to Songbird's responses on a previous topic. It seems in fact, no one is interested in reacting to this subject. Good health to you and yours.

  9. Songbird, Jim Bo, it doesn't matter to me who or what you are, you use an alias, so you have something to hide. I don't expect responses to everything I write, but when I get them, I will reply to them. And I use my actual name, so you know who I am. You, the coward, do not. Wonder why?

  10. You know who we are, and we know who you are, so? It could make for interesting dialogue if you would focus on arguments rather than making personal attacks. Have a good day.

  12. I am simply giving what I am getting. You have a need to post here, go ahead, but expect something in return.

  13. What you are giving is ad hominem personal attack and I don't see you being attacked in that manner. It only shows that you are unable to provide a substantive response. In fact I doubt you even checked the above links that Songbird provided. Continued success to you.
