Rant #3,844: White Hanukkah

We are right on the cusp of Hanukkah.

My family and I have to do the celebration of the holiday a little differently this year, because my son has to work on the first night of the holiday, which is on Sunday.

The change is a simple one; we will simply light the first candles and give out our gifts a bit earlier that day, so we can include our son in the celebration.

It gets dark so early now that we will be doing this just prior to sunset, so it won't be that much of a difference.

It will be fun no matter when we light the candles.

And according to weather forecasters, we are more likely to have a "white Hanukkah" than a "white Christmas" this year, as it will more likely to snow in my neck of the woods on Sunday than on December 25.

It really doesn't matter, but I guess to some people, it does.

To me, I don't care when it snows--

I hate it--

And this year, with our son working outside, i hate it even more.

But I do have my shovel and my brush handy, fir whenever it snows.

We have been pretty lucky the past few years, with a snowless or nearly snowless winter, but I think that the time has come for us to finally get hit.

So to all, Jew and non-Jew alike, be careful out there!

Have a great Hanukkah for those who celebrate, have a great weekend, and i will speak to you again on Monday--

Just prior to my eye procedure--

Being done during the celebration of the Festival of Light!

How appropriate!
